چکیده
The authors focus on the thermal-mechanical coupled behavior of tin rubber bearings (SnRBs) under cyclic loading. research consists three phases. First, tests providing a large number deformations to SnRBs were performed. Second, an analysis model considering was constructed by combining seismic response and thermal conductivity analysis. Finally, analyses using conducted evaluate dynamic seismically isolated buildings with SnRBs. conclude that characteristic change due should be considered for long-duration earthquake ground motions.

Seismic Response of Standard Thermal Expansion Bridge Bearings
Elastomeric bridge bearings have a history of use in the USA of close to 50 years. They are capable of carrying large vertical loads and allowing horizontal movement with low lateral force due to the extreme flexibility of the elastomeric material. They require little maintenance, have no moving parts, have good longevity and are very economical. The elastomer in bridge bearings is usually eith...
متن کاملUse of Shape Memory Alloys with Laminated Rubber Bearings in Seismic Isolation of Multi-Span Continuous Moderate to Strong Seismic Zones
This study is devoted towards evaluating seismic performance of a three-span continuous highway bridge subjected to moderate to strong earthquake ground motions in its longitudinal direction. In this regard, nonlinear dynamic analysis of the bridge based on the direct time integration approach using the 4 order Runge-Kutta method is conducted. Two types of isolation bearings are used in the ana...
متن کاملPillow-Shape Base Isolation System and Its Seismic Behavior
In this paper a new isolating system is introduced for short to mid-rise buildings. In comparison to conventional systems such as LRB and HRB, the proposed system has the advantage of no need to cutting edge technology and has low manufacturing cost. This system is made up of two orthogonal pairs of pillow-shaped rollers that are located between flat bed and plates. By using this system in two ...
متن کاملDynamic mechanical behavior of filled rubber at small strains
Synopsis The strain and temperature dependence of the dynamic properties of rubber containing various concentrations of carbon black were characterized. The measurements, obtained at lower strain amplitudes ( ~10~‘) than previous studies, indicate that flocculation of the carbon black particles, and the enhanced modulus and damping effected by it, are likely existent prior to any deformation. T...
متن کاملCollective Behavior of Coupled Quantum Mechanical Oscillators
A simple model of coupled oscillators is investigated from the perspective of quantum mechanics. The classical model of two oscillators connected by a common platform can be easily solved analytically, but the quantum system requires a numerical approach. We assume that both the oscillators and the platform are quantum objects in their respective ground states at start and they evolve in time a...
